Charming Place with Beautiful Views

Pros: We had a very pleasant stay. It’s definitely worth climbing the stairs to the hotel, because once you reach the upper terrace you can enjoy beautiful views of the place, the square, the valley, and the surrounding hills. The place has a magical atmosphere and really prepares you for the visit to Machu Picchu. Breakfast was simple but perfectly fine. The room matched the setting well, surrounded by vegetation, and had its own private outdoor terrace. The staff also kindly stored our luggage while we were on our tour and allowed us to use the shared terrace even after checkout, which we really appreciated, after collecting the luggage.

Good place

Pros: Nice place to stay. Clean and nice view from the windows

Cons: A bit pricy, but I guess due to the touristy location

Pros: The atmosphere is exceptionally quiet, and the rooms are modern and well-appointed. The staff were genuinely kind, even offering a pickup service from the station.

Cons: As many reviewers have noted, accessing the property requires climbing a long staircase. While this is usually manageable—especially if the staff kindly offer pickup from the train station—the lighting along the path is not ideal, which can make it somewhat hazardous at night.

Pros: Incredible view from rooms, especially the balconies, and also the breakfast terrace. Joe is really friendly and helpful, he even picked us up from the train. Close to downtown, yet totally silent at night.

Pros: Nice small hotel. Staff very helpful and always try to help you. Breakfast correct. They can keep your luggage (for free) during your visit of Machu Picchu

Cons: Not far from the station (15' walking), but at the end you have to climb 130 stairs, very steep, with all your luggage, at 3.400m altitude. Not that easy. No restaurant (for lunch or dinner) No heating in the room Breakfast on small terras outside (cold ! )

A nice base to explore Machu Picchu

Pros: Joe our host was great. They made us breakfast boxes to take up Machu Picchu. Good views from our room and from the breakfast room. Good location, less than give minutes from the bus stop to Machu Picchu.

Cons: The stairs up are a bit tough when you’re tired. But not too bad.

If we go to Aguacalientes again, we will definitely stay at Rupa Rupa

Pros: Staff was very helpful, friendly and welcoming. The location and the view from our room was fantastic. Even though it is relatively a small hotel, the room we stayed were very spacious (we were three), very clean and had a fantastic view of mountains. The room was fully equipped and we did not have to ask for anything extra.
