Tambo de Ollantay Hotel

A simple but perfect base in the Sacred Valley

Pros: It was basic, but had everything we needed. A short walk to everywhere, 5 mins from the train station, lovely staff (though minimal English), had hot showers. Such a gorgeous town to stay in.

Cons: Peru is so different to what we are used to so the simplicity was a bit of a shock but actually we had all we needed.

Nice view and close to attractions

Pros: Great place, close to the train station and ollantaytambo ruins. 5 mins walk each direction. Staff are really friendly and brekfast is heartfelt served to you. Nice view from window as well!

Pros: Location was great, staff was nice, great value for money, bed was really comfortable. We didnt have time for breakfast so we got one to go. They also let us check.in early and we left our luggage for whole day.

Cons: They could put some more effect in cleaning details.

Good place to stay, between the train station and the centre of town

Pros: Friendly hosts, easy going. By a fast flowing stream/river, lovely to here, great view

Nice cozy hotel

Pros: Hotel is close to Ollantaytambo center and ruins as well as the train station. Rooms are clean and comfortable. They serve breakfast. Staff was friendly and helpful.

Cons: Can get a bit noisy in the mornings, as the hotel is located next to the road leading to the train station, so from 5 am on every 15-30 minutes, several buses pass to bring the tourists to the train.

Nice hôtel near Ollantaytambo train station

Pros: Nice family hôtel very close to Ollantaytambo train station, so you don't need to walk much in the morning if you go to Machu Picchu. Close to center area as well. Room with the perfect mountain view. Very nice and helpful personnel. Clean room and bathroom.

Cons: Price and overall everything were nice, but i have to admit some négative points: - very basic breakfast - no heating in the room, so cold floors and you have to sleep under 2+ blankets - hot water only in the shower, not in the sink - constant noise from nearby river - sometimes there are nobody at réception But again it's ok.

Ollantaytambo is a jewel

Pros: Location backs onto river with view of mountains and fields. Room is large with windows out both sides of building. Breakfast was breads with jam, eggs, coffee and tea. Bathroom was good. Great price for basic accommodation.

Cons: Additional pillows and another chair would be nice. We don't speak Spanish so communication with host was more challenging.

Pros: Very helpful and polite owners of the hotel. Good localization by the road that leads directly to train station. Simple breakfast included in price and possible lunch box when leave early in the morning.

Great location!

Pros: The hotel is near the Ollantaytambo train station, which is the train's starting point for Machu Picchu (5 to 10 minutes walk). It is also near Ollantaytambo archeological site (5 to 10 minutes walk).

Just an overnight - before and after the train trip to Machu Picchu.

Pros: Reasonable. They may iffer something else for additional price.
