El Albergue Ollantaytambo

I loved everything about El Auberge and will recommend it to every single person I know!

Pros: Everything! The staff were incredibly kind and helpful, the amenities were fantastic, the food was great, the location was amazing - right next to the train station which made it easy to access Machu pichu - and the walk around the farm and roastery and distillery was lovely!

It was lovely my stay at Albergue Hotel. I always have nice memories of this place.

Pros: Omar at reception was so helpful as the other reception staff. Meals at the restaurant were so good. Location of the Albergue Hotel was great!

Pros: Really interesting place to stay - within the train station area (you walk out of the reception and onto the platform). The staff were so lovely - Maria (I think that was her name), was absolutely incredible! And truly amazing breakfast! The property itself is also lovely and is all centered around a really nice garden

Cons: The place itself is a bit old, and it’s about a 15-20 min walk from the main town. So if you’re hoping to be central, this may not be the place for you.

Pros: The location is perfect , the rooms are beautiful and comfortable, including details like slippers, robes and fruit. The beds are A+ and the breakfast is amazing. The restaurant is also great and the staff is super welcoming. The hotel has a vegetable garden and distillery worth visiting.

Combine superb location with efficient friendly staff, great facilities and a creative conversion of the train station

Pros: The best possible location in Ollantaytambo, no need to leave the hotel for restaurant, bar or coffee bar. The hotel building has been beautifully integrated into what I assume was the original railway station. It is has a farm attached as part of an integrated site with a distillery, some outdoor restaurant options and vegetable gardens for the hotel restaurant. If you are going up to Machu Picchu or coming from Cusco the good news is you just step out of the El Albergue and you are on the station and onto the train. Combine superb location with efficient friendly staff, great facilities and a creative conversion of the train station into an excellent hotel and you can’t beat the El Albergue.

Pros: Breakfast was lovely. I loved this hotel a lot - breakfast and dinner right by the train track. Close to town. The farm and distillery (try a matacuy sour in the hotel bar). The staff were great. The art by Wendy on the walls.

Beautiful hotel right in the train station to Machu Picchu.

Pros: It's a beautiful property and when I got really ill from something I ate at a restaurant in Cusco they go me a doctor who put me on an IV, took blood, and came back in two hours with a diagnosis and meds and had me feeling good by my morning trip to Machu Picchu.

Perfect choice for what we wanted

Pros: Great staff, beautiful place, beautiful gardens, perfect for spending the night before / after Machu Picchu or when exploring Ollantaytambo.
