Hostal EL VIAJERO en Ollantaytambo

Great location, cosy and comfortable room

Pros: Great location, super clean and cosy, adequate for my stay. I was sick and hospitalised in this town and I was able to recover well thanks to the comforts of the hostal.

Cons: Nothing.

Pros: Excellent location near the main square and a great host who was super helpful! All facilities were working great, clean room, multiple charging points and a hot shower. They also allowed me to leave luggage free of charge whilst I went to Machu Picchu!

Pros: Perfectly fine for one night, good location and decent room

Cons: The only hotel in Peru that made us pay IVA despite us being exempt as foreigners

Very clean and serene place to recharge

Pros: Beautiful view, incredibly clean and comfortable, with nice traditional touches. I left the other place I booked because I was so tired and a night here made me feel rested and much better again. It was the perfect place to rest. It was warm, hot water, water pressure and the sound of the river nearby was very nice.

Cons: At first they didn't have change when I paid at reception and was asked to come back later for the change as that's when I'll get my key too. Was let into the room, shown around, left and came back in the evening. When I came back the other family members in reception didn't know what I was trying to say about the fact that I was promised the change and would like my key. The lady followed me upstairs as if I wanted to steal something or enter other rooms ..or I don't know what. I had already been to my room, I was already checked in by someone - I just didn't get a key. She was even talking about me in Spanish, which I didn't like. Also, the reception smelled like onions or a strong smell of food or salsa which is such a contrast to the cleanliness and freshness I found in the room. It's just a small detail but it could give the wrong first impression.

Pros: The staff were really helpful & gave us lots of information about what to do in Ollantaytambo when we checked in. The room was clean & had a hot shower.

Cons: The water was warm but didn’t get much hotter, I could have done a few more degrees warmer!!
