Escobedo’s Inn Machupicchu

A very pleasant one-night stay with kind staff & a great location

Pros: The location is right in the city center, and even though we expected it to be noisy, it was actually very peaceful. The only sound we could hear was the ricer, which was very relaxing. The staff was extremely kind and helpful. One of the staff members didn’t speak English very well, but he really wanted to help, and we managed to communicate using my basic Spanish and his basic English. There was no issue with leaving our luggage, and since we left early in the morning, we received a very generous takeaway breakfast with a sandwich, fruit, and water - it was so filling it lasted us most of the day.

Cons: Nothing worth mentioning.

Pros: We had a small room the first night but they upgraded us with great charm and no further cost to the double bed room with lovely window over the river you see above. For that reason we would go back.

Pros: Close to the station. Clean - get the corner rooms. They were very helpful in packing breakfast to our requirements by 4.45 am and helping us with a late checkout etc. Good place to stop over on the way to machu pichu

Good base for a couple of nights can recommend.

Pros: Great location and comfortable. That even made take away breakfast if you have an early tour .

Pros: Great location, love the big windows the room is very bright and nice during the day. The room is also very clean. Staff is kind and accommodating.

Fantastic stay in Aguas Calientes!

Pros: Perfect location in Aguas Calientes! Very close to the ticket office and bus stop for Machu Picchu, only a short walk to the train station, and lots of cafes and restaurants nearby. The host packed us a breakfast to go for our early Machu Picchu visit, which was much appreciated! They also allowed us to leave our bags in our room in the morning so we didn’t have to check out at 5am, and put them in storage after check out time whilst we were still in Machu Picchu. Our room was comfortable, had a nice view, and had much more facilities than expected. We only stayed one night, but could’ve easily stayed longer!

Cons: I think it’s near impossible to avoid noise in Aguas Calientes, with dogs barking etc., so I would suggest to bring some earplugs if you’re a light sleeper!

One night in Aguas Calientes

Pros: Well positioned in Aguas Calientes, not far from the bus station for Machu Picchu. Take away breakfast available, very well organised for Machu Picchu visit and check out. You can leave luggage till late. Room with view mountain was great. Good for one night before visiting the amazing wonder.

Cons: A little expensive as everything in Aguas Calientes due to proximity to Machu Picchu. Take away breakfast could have been a little better. Could have been more clean.

Pros: Nice and clean place, conveniently located next to the bus stop to Machu Picchu. Great value for the money. Since we were leaving early, they kindly prepared a breakfast box for us and stored our luggage—much appreciated! Unlike many places in Peru, they didn’t try to charge the 18% VAT for Peruvians or tourists staying over 60 days, which was great.

Cons: They did try to pass on an administration fee that the accommodation is supposed to pay to Booking.com. We declined, and to their credit, the receptionist didn’t insist.

Great value, highly recommend as base camp for MP

Pros: Minutes walk from bus pick up point for Machu Picchu and the train station. Lovely staff, packed us to go breakfast on our hike morning at 5.30 am
