Ayllu B&B Ollantaytambo

Pros: I loved my stay here. The owners are super caring and sweet and went out of their way to ensure I had a great stay. The room was large and comfortable. Breakfasts on the rooftop were delicious and a great opportunity to chat with other guests staying there. It's located a little north of the main town but it gave me an excuse every day to walk through the town on my way to the B&B. The owners also had plenty of tips about hikes in the area and even made me a packed breakfast when I left at 6am one morning to do a hike.

Pros: Lovely sanctuary in Pisac. Relaxing internal courtyard complete with alpaca. We stayed in the large apartment which was very spacious with good hot water and comfy beds. Excellent breakfast and very helpful staff who helped us with travel between destinations. Highly recommended and would definite stay again.

Best place to stay in Peru!

Pros: The rooms were spotless. The beds were very comfortable. The breakfast was plentiful. The host family were lovely and spoke excellent English which was a bonus for us as our Spanish is sparse. The location was great and only a short walk into town but far enough away to be peaceful. The views were magnificent. Highly recommended!!

Quiet and comfortable with great views

Pros: Very comfortable and clean, staff all friendly and accomodating. Breakfast had variety and was delicious. Had a great sleep in a peaceful environment.

Cons: 1km from the Plaza de Armas, which usually wouldn't be an issue but a bit draining after our 5 day Salkantay trek. Bathroom didn't have ventilation so smelt slightly musty.

Friendly and welcoming

Pros: Antonio, Nicole, and their dog Charlotte were excellent hosts. They were exceptionally friendly and helpful. The room and breakfast were great and we liked it so much that we spent an extra night there.

A special highlight was the view from the rooftop terrace overlooking the beautiful mountains around Ollantaytambo. A very charming and welcoming place to stay – definitely the better choice compared to the typical tourist hotels in town. Highly recommended!

Pros: Antonio and Nicole are amazing hosts, keen to help with any request. It is a 10 minute walk from the main town, which means it is very peaceful and quiet and you get to see a bit more of the town. Very clean property, and the bed was huge and so comfortable, best sleep we'd had in a while. And a great breakfast. Nicole also did some laundry for us, which was appreciated. It was the perfect place to stay while acclimatising to the altitude. Antonio organised a driver so we could do a day trip visiting Urubumba, Chinchero, Moray and Maras. Would highly recommend staying here.

Pros: We had a spacious room in Ayllu which is located on outskirts of Ollantaytambo. We were happy to meet very pleasant and helpful hosts.

Pros: A beautiful spot overlooking the Andes Mountains with a beautiful rooftop with 360 degree views. I was pretty blown away with the cleanliness of the house, very comfortable bedding and pillows, the best hairdryer I’ve had since Ive been on the road for 5 weeks. Bedside lamp worked well with good mood lighting. Shampoo and conditioner provided. Clean bath towels and hand towels plus the floor towel which was missing in some of the other hotels I stayed on this trip. The setup is excellent for a B&B joint! And not to mention the service - Antonio was always at hand to help call the Motor taxi for me and he even packed me a special breakfast on the morning of my early departure. You feel the care and love they put into the house and their guests. Thank you. It felt like home to me.

Cons: It’s not so much about the property or the owners but it is about 5-7 minutes drive away from Ollantaytambo town and for lunch and dinner, you need to go into town for that. For me, especially after a long day, I just wanted to be in my room and have room service. BUT this is not a show stopper! You just need to plan better for the meals.
