Awesome location, beautiful grounds, lovely breakfast, spacious rooms.

Pros: It was conveniently located to the plaza and the train station. The grounds were lovely, lots of plants and a bonus of llama’s wandering around. The breakfast was great and they kindly made a breakfast to take with us on our early train.

Cons: Nothing really. Cups and a kettle would have been great. They didn’t make up our room but did ask if we needed anything. It was a bit warm and we were reluctant to open the window as there was no screen.

Pros: Amazing hotel and very friendly staff. Helped us sort our transfers to and from the hotel. Alpacas on site which made it even more special

We had a pleasant stay at the Tunupa lodge

Pros: The property was better than my expectation. The rooms were large and clean, beds comfortable. I had a lower expectation given its 2 star rating on booking.com

Cons: No kettle in the room but the friendly staff was very kind to provide us a thermos filled with hot water the night before.

Ok hotel near the train station

Pros: We ended up staying two nights longer as we came down with dysentery after a meal in town. The staff were really helpful (once I found them see below) and got us medical help, heated up food etc Couple of minutes walk to train station and the same to the main square 4 resident Lamas on the grounds which adds to the atmosphere Stores our bags whilst we were at Aguas Calientes

Cons: There is no 24 hour reception which when your family are violently ill at 3am is not great. I couldn't find anyone to help and no one answered the phone. When I did get hold of them though, they were really kind and found us a doctor It can be noisy from 4am as traffic starts arriving for the first train to Aguas Calientes. Take ear plugs Breakfast is very simple. We have had better at other places

Pros: The property has alpacas in the yard, which is spacious and perfect for relaxing while enjoying the mountain views. The room is large and comfortable, and the breakfast offers a wide variety of choices. Overall, it’s in a great location — peaceful, yet well-connected.

Cons: Unfortunately, the room had a very strong, unpleasant smell — it honestly felt like alpacas might stay there when guests don’t. :)))
