Ukumari Hostel

Pros: Carolina was the sweetest host one can wish for. She speaks Spanish and very good English. From day one I felt welcome and like I a home away from home. It's a cute little hostel with a well equipped kitchen, all the things you need to prepare delicious meals. You can wash your clothes there for a very fair price. Good location. It has 2 bathrooms with warm water and very comfortable beds. The hostel has a very chill vibe. Loved the fluffy friends - 2 dogs. I would stay again anytime! Thank you for making my stay so pleasant.

Homely place close to everything you need

Pros: Great little place run by locals near to the main square, super helpful staff and homely feel

Great budget stay in the centre of Cusco

Pros: Simple budget hostel, friendly and helpful staff, total freedom of movement as you are given the keys to the place and can come and go as you like. Comfy beds and warm shower with ok pressure. Plenty of food options near by

Cons: It's a budget place, prefect for what I was looking for but don't expect luxury

Pros: The staff were exceptionally hospitable and fun. The location was great. The bed was super comfy and warm. The atmosphere was wonderful. I enjoyed it so much right after i arrived. Loved everything about the hostel. My best decision in cusco was switching hostel to Ukumari.

Pros: Great place to stay, very close to the tourist sites in the historic centre. Lovely atmosphere, with helpful and friendly staff and guests.

Great hostel with the best host ever!

Pros: The host Carolina, is one of the friendliest people I met during my 2 month travel in Peru, and her team is also very kind and helpful! There is hot shower, the beds are comfy, with thick warm blanket, the property is clean, you will have a great stay! It is located right next to the center, in a small & safe alley, and in a local area so everything is also cheaper than around Plaza de Armas. Also don’t based yourself on old reviews as she has moved her hostel and current property is really nice.

Una casona bonita

Pros: Lugar agradable, the owner Carolina is so gently and sweet person, I saw some comment I don’t get why they say something bad against to the place, is a cheap place, has everything you don’t need to share rooms and smell another people for a low price, they have kitchen for free and not all the cheap hostels have that for free and we have to let clean for the next guest who want to cook, the bathroom it is not the best but if there is more people who doesn’t care when they are sick and they doesn’t care for another guest too I saw people sick and just use the toilet and let so dirty and they doesn’t care about the other person in the house. Why they point the Ukumari if it is our responsibility and empathy for the next who is going to use the toilet, SOME PEOPLE EANT EVERYTHING AND LOW AND CHEAP AND PRIVATE. It is a nice place with everything in there. So safe. Thank you Carolina for your help with my tours.

a counfy place to stay

Pros: it's a counfy place to stay, we really like our two beds room. in the end, we stay more then 5 nights. and Carolina is a warn person which offer us some flexibility for our check-in time, also give us alot information for our trip to Machu Picchu, and those interesting town around Cusco. anytime we need helps carolina will do her best to help, highly recommend!

Cons: The intermittent water outage in the dry season may make cooking a little more difficult, but it seems that this is a problem shared by the whole city.

Pros: Even though it is the most affordable hostel in the region, everything is perfect and incredible! The owners are wonderful people! This is not just a hostel, it's an experience! I made a family for myself in Cusco! I came for one day, stayed for ten days and will be back soon!

Recommand for budget travelers

Pros: The host was super super nice ! She provides a lot of informations , and help us to store our bags when we are in the salkantay trek. Rooms are spacious .

Cons: Hot shower for 10 minutes but it’s good enough :) a little bit far from city centre but close to where you can get a bus to start your salkantay trek .
