The most amazing location to stay

Pros: This is the most amazing location to stay - a wonderful 30 minute drive from the main road to find incredible views across to the mountains and plenty of places to sit and enjoy it, a beautiful and tranquil spot. The family who run the place could not have been more friendly - and welcoming us with tea on arrival, we also had a lovely evening dinner (at a very reasonable extra cost), it was one of our favourite places so far in Peru! We were also able to park our car inside their yard which was really helpful.

Beautiful if not easy to find location and a very nice stay.

Pros: We had dinner and breakfast here. The meals were very good and the dining room full of atmosphere! The layout of the place is very comfortable, you look out over green farmland backed by snowy mountains from your room

Cons: The place is quite difficult to find if using Google Maps, we arrived in the dark and pouring rain and google tried to send us down a grassy bank twice! Some signs on the road would be useful (in the end my tip is - ignore any Google advice to leave the paved road and just follow that road. It will get you there.

Pros: This is the best hospitality I've ever experienced in Peru. I hardly can find words to say how happy I am after visiting here. Thank you very very very much for everything! I wish you all to visit and stay at least a couple of nights.

A magical place to stay

Pros: The place is simply wonderful and magical. One of the most peaceful places i've ever stayed in my life. The view, the garden, the fresh breakfast, and of course the lovely and kind Yovana made it very special for me. The parking space is a huge bonus and the fresh breakfast was delicious. The hotel is also located very close to the town center where you have restaurants and supermarkets. The views while coming down and going up to the hotel are breathtaking! I'd love to return here as soon as possible.M

Beautiful and peaceful place near Choquequirao

Pros: Casa de Salcantay is the perfect place to prepare for a trek to Choquequirao! The host, Yovana, is a very kind woman who helped me prepare for the trek and provided me with very useful information. The entire atmosphere was welcoming, the room was big and comfortable, and the views were amazing. Can fully recommend!

Cons: Do keep in mind that travelling from Cachora to Cusco is not very straightforward.

Wonderful place, view and hiking tour

Pros: We went to Yovana for two nights in hope for a little break from the stressful trip we had. But after we got to know Yovana and the hotel we instantly fell in love with everything and stayed for 2 more nights! Her loving and helpful attitude made us feel so welcome! Every morning she made a delicious breakfast and all through the day she served us tea and coffee. She helped us organising a trip to Quochequirao (she can explain everything you need to know about the tour) and booked all the hostels on the way for us! We are so thankful to have met her and the beautiful Casa de Salcantay. We definitely recommend 100%, you will miss a great opportunity to have some wonderful days if you don't go here. There are collectivos from Abancay and Cusco to get there and back. In Cachora you can't find any ATMs, so bring enough money! We hope we see you again Yovana, muchos gracias por todo!

Lovely scenic friendly family run hotel

Pros: As always great location and perfect views of the Andes and perfect place to start and finish the demanding trek to Chocquirao. Staff very helpful in arranging the journey. Many thanks

Cons: A duvet would be great to have to avoid the heavy blankets for a better sleep

Pros: Gostei de tudo, especialmente da cortesia e hospitalidade das pessoas. Foi muito especial passar o ano novo em companhias tão especiais. Comida deliciosa, vistas incríveis das montanhas, acomodações confortáveis.

Pros: Wir habendiese Unterkunft für den Jahreswechsel (2 Nächte) ausgewählt und waren begeistert! Schöner konnte das Jahr 2025 nicht enden und 2026 nicht beginnen (Foto vom Neujahsmorgen von unserem Zimmer aus). Die gesamte Gastgeberfamilie ist äußerst herzlich und wir fühlten uns willkommen. Sehr gutes Essen (Frühstück und Dinner) ist ebenfalls zu genießen. Die Unterkunft ist eine perfekte Basis für Wanderungen und bietet kompetente Beratung..

Fantastic stay. Highlight of our five weeks of hiking in Peru.

Pros: Incredible location, wonderfully friendly hosts, great food. Glad we could stay twice, before and after hiking to Choquequirao.
